Call with Future con Sodalitas

15 Febbraio 2021

Tera srl is proud to be part of Sodalitas Call for Future, the Sodalitas Foundation initiative that involves companies committed to achieving a sustainable future according to the UN 2030 Agenda, with particular attention to young people, citizens of tomorrow’s world.

Sodalitas Call for Future gathers 150 concrete business actions that respond to four major challenges: Call for Planet, Call for People, Call for Work and Call for Better.

Tera srl participates in Sodalitas Call for Future with the project “Beeta for School!” which aims to spread among students the culture of energy efficiency and environmental sustainability through a gaming app that stimulates them to live in a more conscious and balanced way, to reduce consumption and take care of the residential environment in which they live. Checking the trend of energy consumption, the impact of individual appliances and thermal systems on CO2 emissions, turning off unused devices, the benefits of the use of renewable sources in their homes (eg concept of prosumer photovoltaics), water saving, monitoring the level of CO2 in closed environments are just some of the activities induced by the project. The role of education as a vector of behavioral change amplifies the benefits by inducing the younger generation to involve the whole family.

Sodalitas Call for Future promotes a dialogue between businesses and young people based on the common language of sustainability.

The Together for Future competition is aimed at 2 million students in 7,500 Italian secondary schools, to help them discover the 150 business projects that are part of the initiative, and invite them to express their expectations and proposals for a sustainable future.

All the corporate actions that are part of Sodalitas Call for Future can be viewed on the website sodalitascallforfuture.it, the digital platform dedicated to enhancing these initiatives so that they can be an example and an inspiration to many other realities.

Clean Industrial Deal: “buy European”, "Banca per la Decarbonizzazione" e "Nuove Garanzie Finanziarie"

Subject to the premises stated in the article published on the , the need for a plan that both supports energy-intensive companies and promotes the development of clean technologies, with a focus on the Circular Economy, the real innovations of this new plan (which, in some way, marks the first step beyond the limitations of the "EU Green Deal" ) consist of these three key points: Simplifying State Aid regulations, making it easier for individual EU countries to allocate public funds to companies active in renewable energy and clean tech. This includes allowing "European preference criteria in public procurement rules for strategic sectors" (the " Buy European" clause) and introducing qualitative requirements and criteria that provide a concrete advantage to manufacturers of products relevant to the energy transition, if they can demonstrate investments in decarbonization. Establishing the Industrial Decarbonization Bank , with a €100 billion fund to finance the decarbonization of major industrial processes across various sectors. This funding will be partly sourced from the reallocation of resources from the Innovation Fund and partly from additional revenues generated by the Emission Trading System and the restructuring of the InvestEU plan. Amending the InvestEU fund regulations to increase its risk-bearing capacity, resulting in an additional €50 billion in public and private financing for Clean Tech, Clean Mobility, and Waste Reduction. It is also noteworthy to mention the adoption on February 26 of the Action Plan for Affordable Energy , which promotes long-term energy purchase contracts, including cross-border agreements, backed by guarantees from the European Investment Bank (EIB). The plan also explicitly recommends that member states immediately reduce electricity taxes while awaiting the conclusion of negotiations on the Energy Taxation Directive. Additionally, it calls for shortening authorization times for renewable energy production and energy storage projects. These and future actions, which are necessary given the current geopolitical and macroeconomic landscape, are closely aligned with the recommendations outlined in the "Draghi Plan." The overarching principle driving this initial phase of the new EU policy direction is not to pursue decarbonization "immediately and at all costs," but rather to do so only if it remains compatible with the competitiveness of the European economy. In this context, an Action Plan for the Automotive Industry has been announced for March, followed by an Action Plan for Steel and Metals in the spring (with subsequent plans for the Chemical Industry and the Clean Tech Industry). Is this the right path? Is it enough? From a competitiveness standpoint, we would like to see a stronger push for #DigitalEnergy technologies, as they are #disruptive and have the potential to reshape business models creating a European energy market and system that would be difficult for non-EU competitors to penetrate, especially if coordinated with measures to ensure technological autonomy in #AI and #CloudComputing.

On September 11, 2024 , the third "Summit for Territories" organized by Smart Building Alliance (SBA) Italy , will take place at the "Camera dei deputati" . This annual event, aimed at assessing the state of digitalization and modernization of Italy's real estate assets, will be an opportunity to deepen crucial topics related to smart buildings and their role in the context of energy transition and environmental sustainability. The summit, which will feature numerous industry experts, will focus on the profound transformation underway in the construction sector, a change that not everyone is fully aware of. Beyond its primary function as "shelter," the building is becoming the physical terminal for an expanding range of innovative services made possible by digitalization. In this way, the building becomes a meeting point between human physicality and connection to an increasingly virtual world. This connection can improve quality of life, especially when accompanied by ease of use, which is often lacking in the technologies applied to buildings. This year's event, titled "Smart buildings: convergence of PNRR, digitalization, and EU2050 objectives" , will be divided into two sessions. The morning session, held at the "Carte Geografiche" Conference Center in Rome, will introduce the work with a focus on the convergence of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR), digitalization, and the European Union's 2050 climate objectives. Topics will include the digitalization of buildings for social and economic development, enabling technologies for the evolution of energy services, the role of transport in decarbonization, and the management of digital risk and privacy. In the afternoon, the proceedings will move to the Camera dei Deputati, where three programmatic documents, developed by industry experts, business managers, and representatives of professional associations, will be presented to parliamentarians and political leaders. Antonio Sacchetti , CEO and chairman of Tera and an expert on digital energy (smart metering chain2, Renewable Energies Communities, Virtual Power Plant/local flexibility services), and the integration of technologies like edge computers in smart buildings, will speak at both sessions. The full program of the event is provided . The goal of the Summit is to raise awareness among a broad audience and key stakeholders about emerging issues related to smart buildings, while also promoting the protocol for equipping buildings with the digital infrastructure necessary to manage the new functions they are being called upon to fulfill. With the involvement of experts and parliamentarians, the event represents an important opportunity for discussion and reflection on key issues for the future of the construction sector and the sustainability of our planet. Register to participate to the event. #SmartBuilding #IoT #Innovations #SustainableEnergies #Tera #DigitalEnergy #EnergyEfficiency #EdgeComputers #smartmetering #chain2
